The nomination window for the 2024 Lord Ferrers Awards is currently open and Cambridgeshire Police Federation members are being encouraged to put forward someone who has made outstanding contributions to volunteering in policing.

Exceptional voluntary service to policing from the likes of Special Constables and volunteer police cadets will be acknowledged by the Awards in a ceremony later this year.

A panel of judges will select a winner and runner-up from a shortlist of nominations across 11 individual and team categories. A set of criteria, which specifies a high-quality piece of work, a measurable impact and an inspiring contribution, will be used by judges to determine which nominees will be commended at an awards evening on 5 December.

Federation chair Liz Groom said: “The Lord Ferrers Awards are a great way to celebrate the invaluable work of volunteers within the Police Force and I believe it is important they are recognised with their own awards ceremony.

“I would urge Federation members to think about the voluntary colleagues around them and how they may make your life easier through their commitment – and if there is someone who springs to mind, submit a nomination today.”

The Awards will commend achievement in the following categories:
