Cambridgeshire Police Federation has been out and about providing refreshments to officers during the current hot spell.
Branch chair Liz Groom took cold drinks and ice lollies to officers working in the south of the county and specialist departments.
Liz provided refreshments for officers in the north of the county during the previous hot spell.
She said: “Staying cool can be difficult when you’re on patrol and kitted out in body armour and dark uniform.
“So it’s important for officers to get some respite and refreshments in during this hot spell.
“The nature of the job means that police officers don’t always get to take regular breaks and have to grab a drink when they can.
“They’re only human and need to keep their energy up and to stay hydrated so they’re ready to go to the next job.
“If people see an officer taking a break, go and say ‘hi’,” Liz added.
