Assistant Chief Constable Vaughan Lukey and branch chair Liz Groom
Cambridgeshire Police Federation chair Liz Groom described the National Police Memorial Day as ‘an emotional reminder of the sacrifices’ made by officers.
This year’s service will be held at Coventry Cathedral on Sunday 28 September.
It is free to attend and the online registration system is now open.
Liz encouraged members to attend.
She said: “National Police Memorial Day brings the police family together and is always a moving occasion.
“The day is an emotional reminder of the sacrifices made by thousands of police officers in protecting our communities.
“It’s a chance to remember those officers and to show our support for their family, friends, and colleagues.
“If members have the chance then I would encourage them to be part of the day.”
The National Police Memorial Day service rotates around each of the four countries in the United Kingdom.
It is held on the closest Sunday to 29 September which is St Michael’s Day, the patron saint of policing.
