Cambridgeshire Police Federation today remembers Force PC Robert Reynolds.

Robert was 47 when he died of heart failure on 28 November 1984. At the time, he was on an extended tour of duty with a support unit during the national miners’ strike at Tilmastone Colliery in Kent and was on standby in a police van.

Liz Groom, chair of Cambridgeshire Police Federation, said: “Robert was acting in the finest traditions of policing, supporting colleagues from another force when their own resources were stretched when he tragically died.

“Today we remember Robert and his service to the public, but also the family, friends and colleagues he left behind.”
