This Friday (November 15) the Police Federation of England and Wales (PFEW) will be hosting a webinar to mark Men’s Health Month.
This session aims to dive into what it means to be a man in the policing profession today and to foster open discussions around mental health, societal expectations, and the available support systems for men in policing.
The webinar will be led by Zac Mader, PFEW’s men’s health lead, and will feature insights from Mark Brooks OBE. They’ll discuss crucial issues affecting men in the force, focusing on mental health and the unique pressures they face.
Secretary of Cambridgeshire Police Federation Scott Houghton is encouraging both male and female members of the Federation to attend, emphasising the importance of breaking down barriers around men’s health.
“This webinar provides a valuable opportunity for all members to understand the challenges that some men may be facing,” said Scott, adding: “I would encourage as many people as possible to join this week’s webinar. This is a change to raise awareness of men’s health, while enocuraging members to open up about how they might be feeling.”
In addition, Police Care UK will be presenting on their support services available to both active and retired officers.
The webinar will run from 12:45 pm to 2:00 pm.
