Hear from the Cambridgeshire ‘Police Officer of the Year’ in the winter edition of Fedline, the magazine of the Federation branch.

Detective Constable George Corney pays tribute to the work of colleagues right across the Force after receiving his award at the Cambridgeshire Police annual awards.
Elsewhere in the magazine, branch chair Liz Groom wishes members and their families a merry Christmas and thanks them for their sacrifices during the year, but particularly over the festive period.

Liz encourages members to take part in the upcoming Federation elections, whether that is by standing to become a workplace rep or by voting for their favourite candidates.

She says: “The police service is currently facing a crisis so now, more than ever, we need a strong and effective Police Federation to give members a voice and help drive change.”

Hear from the Federation member who is pivotal in the Force’s efforts to tackle domestic abuse and violence against women and girls.

And meet the Special Constable who combines her volunteering work with being a Cambridgeshire Police staff member as the Force’s change and research officer.

There’s a look back on an eventful 2024 in our year in review.

We hear from a Federation member about the success of an amateur choir, which is growing and bringing people together after it was launched as a Force wellbeing project.

And we meet the branch members who took part in this year’s Great Eastern Run in Peterborough to raise money for Peterborough Women’s Aid, a charity for women seeking refuge from high-risk domestic abuse environments.

Read all about it in the winter edition of Fedline.
