The Police Federation of England and Wales (PFEW) annual conference takes place this month and members in Cambridgeshire are being encouraged to join online.

The conference takes place on 18 and 19 November.

It will bring together key stakeholders, decision makers and policing experts to discuss issues facing members and the police service.

Cambridgeshire Police Federation chair Liz Groom said: “Over the two days, a series of discussions, presentations, and Q&As will raise awareness of some of the key issues facing our members and policing in general.

“I’d encourage members to join the live broadcast, or to watch it on catch up at a later date.”

Hosted by broadcaster Ian Collins, day one kicks off at 1pm on 18 November with a welcome from national chair Tiff Lynch.

The agenda will include discussions on pay and conditions, supporting officers’ families, and a keynote speech and Q&A with PFEW chief executive Mukund Krishna.

The day will also include presentations for the Outstanding Contribution to Women in Policing Award, and the Detective of the Year.

Day two on 19 November starts at 9.20am and includes a keynote speech from Tiff.

There will be a panel discussion on policing’s suicide crisis, an update on the #SimplifyDG6 campaign, and a panel Q&A.

Awards for Investigation of the Year and Response Officer of the Year will be presented as well.

The conference, which is supported by Slater and Gordon, is in-person and open only to elected delegates, who have been formally chosen to represent their branches.

The event will be live-streamed via the PFEW YouTube channel and reps and members are encouraged to watch it live or on catch-up.
