Cambridgeshire Police Federation chair Liz Groom has paid tribute to PC Edward Reynolds who died on 28 November 1984 while on duty during the national miners’ strike.
The Cambridgeshire PC was on an extended tour of duty with a support unit at Tilmanstone Colliery in Kent. He was on standby in a police van when he collapsed and died of heart failure. He was aged 47.
Liz said: “It’s important for us to continue to honour and remember our fallen colleagues and Edward’s service and dedication to policing should never be forgotten.
“The thoughts of everyone at Cambridgeshire Police Federation are with Edward’s family, friends and colleagues on the anniversary of his death.”
