A memorial bench has been installed at Milton Police Station in loving memory of PC 74 Greg Gill, who sadly died following a diagnosis of incurable cancer.

Greg, who was just 41, joined Cambridgeshire Constabulary in 2019 and was a much-loved and respected member of the Cambridge City Centre Neighbourhood Policing Team. He died on 25 March, earlier this year.

Cambridgeshire Police Federation branch secretary Kevin Misik, who worked closely with Greg, said: “Greg was a proud police officer, a valued colleague and, above all, a wonderful person who touched the lives of so many.

“This bench is a fitting tribute to Greg and will provide a lasting place for colleagues and friends to remember him and reflect on the difference he made.”

In the words of Greg, a written tribute on the bench says, “Never Rush. Do your job properly. Be a good human and help others every day.”

Kevin added: “This bench ensures that while Greg may no longer be with us, but he will never be forgotten.

“Our thoughts remain with Greg’s wife Edita, his family, friends and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.”

Members who have been affected by Greg’s death and would like support, please contact the Federation office.
